Default Headlamp replacement

2006 a4 s-line. I'm getting a "defective headlamp" warning on my display. I've never replaced this part before. Any suggestions on how to do this and what type of bulb to use?

headlights are h7 type lights, you can pretty much go to walmart or autozone and theyll have them. Its really not hard, just open up the back of the housing, diconnect the lightbulb and pull it out, itll take a little force. In the inner lights are the highbeams and the outward ones are the low beams lol i made that mistake.

Can the "h7" bulb be used for both high & low beams? Also, is there any chance to upgrade to a Xenon bulbs?

yes they are interchangable, and i did a xenon upgrade and it was just as easy as replacing the bulb, just had to add a ballast and mount it in the engine bay.

However, the halogen housings aren't designed for the xenon light pattern, so it won't look good like using a xenon projector lamp.

Hey guys, the passenger bulb on my car went out, but I can't access the bulb without having to remove the filter. I've spent a good hour trying to figure out how to remove the filter to get the bulb, and i'm stuck. Does anyone have a diagram? Thanks!
