Hey Guys,
I'd posted before about leaking coolant from my A3. Also saw lots of others despairing that they might have a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder.

Just got back from the mechanic and I have good news - my radiator had just been chipped and corroded by rocks from the road. I'd had it pressure tested by two mechanics, both just said "radiator leaks, needs replacement" without telling me where the leak came from. I was worried that they didn't find the root cause and I'd have something more serious.

Once they got the radiator out, it was obvious where it was leaking:


The front grille is wide open to rocks flying through.


They replaced the radiator, and i'm hoping for the best. I'm driving from Boston ->DC tomorrow, and fingers crossed, no more leaks! The total repair bill from Foreign Auto Center in Cambridge MA was $540, half of the $1055 the stealership quoted me. Foreign Auto Center in Cambridge is fantastic by the way.

So, hope that others have as clean of an experience as I did.
