Default 2007 A3 Ashtray removal

I'm trying to remove the ashtrasy base from the car. I've popped up the facia for the auto trans, unscrewed the two torx screws and attempted to remove it. Seems like it's hanging up and doesn't want to come out.

Trying to find a good location for my radar detector remote.

Thanks for your help in advance.

yes. that was the inspiration for my purchase, however, the RX75 would require that I cut a hole there, much larger than tray.

I'm looking to install the controller unit in the ashtray, and have it pop up when the cover is lifted, or have it mounted along the back wall, where it's completely concealed. Not sure if it's possible, but I need to get in there to find out.
