I have seen a couple of references to a 2008.5 model year A3. This is the first I have heard of this. My car was built mid-May. Would this be a 2008.5? What is different about this car versus the 2008?

check if your engine bay says TFSI

 

The car will not be delivered until early July, so I have no idea if it says TSFI. What is TSFI? Excuse my newbieness.

I also just purchased an A3. It has the aux jack under the center armrest, but the engine cover says FSI. Would this be considered a 2008.5 or just a 2008?

Let me get this straight...the engines that say TFSI are the 2006-2008s? And the 2008.5s say FSI?
The 2008.5 has a timing chain, not belt, and has the aux audio jack...is that the only difference?

 

By 'under the armrest', does that mean where the 12v outlet is? Does anyone have a picture?

 

My dealer told me that cars built after December 20, 2007 are considered '08.5's. They have heated seats as standard, although this may only be applicable to Canada. He didn't mention the other items.....perhaps another sign that these guys no little about the product they are selling?

 

Actually A3's built after week 50 have the cold weather package as standard equipment so that means not only heated seats but heated outside mirrors and heated windshield washer nozzles.

 

canuckA3, I can attest to the cold weather package being included in Canadian-bound A3's. I picked up my 2008.5 at the end of April (car was built early March) from Audi of Richmond and it has the cold weather package as well as the auxiliary audio input in the compartment beneath the armrest.
