Default 2009 A3 - Error Code P2015

Our 2009 A3 2.0T was beginning to run rough and threw an engine code. I read it with my code reader and got code P2015, which from what I can see, usually deals with the intake manifold. I started inspecting under the hood to see if I could see anything out of place, and I noticed something that didn't seem right. If you look at my attachment, the part where the arrow was pointing was essentially coming out (away from the arrow). It is a cylinder that is about 1/2" in diameter, and has a tab at the bottom that is connected to a rod allowing it to slightly rotate. I pushed it back in to lodge it correctly in place, cleared the car codes, and drove for about 20 minutes just fine. Then the check engine light came on again, so I read the code and got the same P2015 error. Looked under the hood and the same part popped back out again.

My question now is - what is this part? It is not labeled (unless it is completely a part of the whole intake manifold - Find No. 1). Almost seems like there should be a screw in the center to keep it from dislodging.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Thanks for the help.

Hi there. I've got a friend with this same code? Have you figured anything out with this? Is it the intake manifold runner flap? Thanks.
