RE: 2009 S3
Yea i have on order an 09 but after seeing the 09 S3 i was thinking about waiting....I wonder which ECU upgrade they used on the engine and if its only an ECU upgrade they did and no added performance parts?

RE: 2009 S3
Basically....NO.
The S3 has better parts all round...the brakes, the engine, the suspension etc. It's not just an ECU upgrade that gives it the performance over an A3. But a stock A3 is still a great ride and the performance with the chip is no slouch!
But of course...you could mod an A3 to a point where it outperforms the S3...but probably cheaper to start with the S3 in the first place if you are going that route.

Agree with TPE (nice car by the way)
I actually think that a 09 DSG 2.0t chipped quattro would be faster (below 120 or so) than a stock S3.
Even though the S3 has bigger turbo (more powerful top end), the stock tune is not as aggressive as APR or Revo. Correct me if im wrong, but the S3 doesnt have the torque down low that a chipped a3 does.
Add coilovers and you would have almost the same car. Ive heard that DSG service can be quite pricey and takes a really long time though (sometimes up to 30 days).

If money was not an option. I would go here www.audi.de or:
Briefanschrift(adress): AUDI AG, 85045 Ingolstadt
Telefon(Phone): +49 (0)841 89-0
Fax: +49 (0)841 89-32524
E-Mail: service@audi.de
Not sure if 49 is germany's international long distance code. A quick search online could give you that. If you call there is a very good chance anyone you get a hold of will speak english. You can import one you would just have to make sure it was the Sportback model and not the 3 door. This way the items on it will be okey through the DOT.
