I purchased a new A3 1.8 stronic at the beginning of this month, and I've noticed a slight 'grinding' sort of sound during acceleration, primarily in the lower gears. Just coasting without acceleration produces no noise.

I've spoken to my dealership and I'll be taking the vehicle in to get checked later this week, but curious if anyone has experienced this before, or has any ideas?

YESSS! I've noticed the same thing on my 2013 A5! my grinding sound only appears on acceleration, when i'm coasting there is nothing. My grinding sound is coming out of the passenger front wheel, its really bothering me I have no idea why it does that as i got my car 2 months ago. I really hope your still checking back on these forums because I would really like an update on how your A3 is doing now, after being back from the shop/ and what they did to fix the problem?
