First time poster, long time A3 owner !

My audi is a '97 T plate 1.8sport...she's a dream and has aside from coughing an airflow sensor about 4 years back, never given me a bit of trouble. Until now !Now for some reason after I've finished with her for the evening and lock her up as normal the sensor lights by the door locks flash far quicker than normal then some time later she start beeping (not the alarm) at me and won't shut up unless I unlock/lock her up or leve her unlocked altogether.

Now I've done the obvious, checked the door's and hatch, checked the windows are closed, everything I can think of but I'm stumped ! Any of you smart fella's know what the heck is going on !!!
