A3 with lighting problems
Hoping to get help from the forum experts:
I've got a lighting problem that just started on my 2011 A3 2.0T: all of the lights on the passenger side are out--headlight, front and rear turn signals, brake light, fog light, even the license plate light. And just to confuse me further--the LEFT rear turn signal. I used an OBDII reader to check for faults, but it came up with no errors.
Any suggestions about what might be going on?
Thanks,
Bob

Anything happen lately, work under the hood, in the trunk, close to the fuse panel.
Look for a wiring harness connector separated or partially apart probably close to the fuse box.
This many lights out same side is probably going to be a missing ground and not a fuse problem.
A Haynes service manual might help (wiring diagram), check at a local auto supply.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Only thing that happened was that I had it valet parked while I went to a wedding reception. No problems when I dropped it off with them, but when they brought it back the warning light was on.
I'll look for a Haynes service manual to find out where the wire harness connectors are to try to track this down.

You stated there was a warning light on - which one? You also said you checked for codes but nothing came up. Do you by any chance have access to a Vag-Com? Those generic OBD2 readers usually only check for engine codes and those internal light codes won't be throwing a CEL. The Vag-Com however would be able to get codes from the internal modules and usually help in pin pointing the issue.

The "bulb out" warning light, showing every exterior light on the right side was out. I took it to the dealer and they found a blown fuse in the fuse block in the engine compartment. And a melted fuse panel around it. No idea where enough current to do that came from, but the dealer said they've seen it before.

That sounds more like something warranty or a recall should cover. I melted fuse panel is not something I would simply pay for (hopefully they didn't charge you) as the Fuse should protect your internal components from exactly that kind of crap.
