Hey All -
So I'm toying with purchasing a family members 2011 A3 S-Line with 52k mi on it but I'm concerned about potential upcoming maintenance expenses.
Thought I'd reach out to the vets in here to understand what types of costs may be coming up over the next 30k mi (I drive 10k mi a year max so I doubt I'll have this car much more than 2 years).
The car is in good shape and the owner is willing to sell it to me for $17k/payoff. I was considering a new X1 M-Sport but $300/mo vs. $525 sounds more appealing to me right now.
I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about any major costs coming up? e.g. shocks, struts or anything else now that its outside of the warranty.
I typically buy cars and drive them inside the warranty window to avoid unexpected costs but a $300 payment sounds nice. Local dealer stated that I'll probably need new brakes, tires and the 55k maintenance performed.
Anything I need to be concerned about?
