Default A3 Single DIN to Navigation conversion

Hi all,

I'm new here so please be gentle if I make any mistakes!
I've recently bought a A3 Sportback used, unfortunately it came with the single din concert radio and I wanted to upgrade this to the Audi RNS-E Navigation Unit. I've been reading and I can purchase the double DIN case and the RNS-E unit from a accessories retailer at a significant discount.
I've been reading quite a bit on the subject and people seem to say that is a quite straight forward modification if you have the Symphony or the Concert Double DIN unit but they all seem to mention that things become quite a bit harder for the single DIN unit however nobody seems to mention the connections.

What I would like to know is how difficult is it to upgrade? Is the wrost part getting the Double DIN cage, or do you need to install new wiring to fit and have a fully functional RNS-E unit?
If its only ordering the cage and the unit I can fit it myself but if its something that needs new wiring it would probably require someone else to fit it and may just bring the car to the dealership and have them do the upgrade, although this will cost almost twice as much.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Rod
