A3 standard sound system
How can I remove the small base speaker from the luggage are of the car without loosing the sound from rear door speakers? If I disconnect the sub I loose the sound from the rear speakers in the car. Why does this happen? I have a standard (not Bose) system. The car is a 1997 Audi A3. any advice would be great!

I'm not familiar with the '97 model, but it sounds like the speakers must be run in series. So by disconnecting it you open the circuit cutting power to the door speakers. If you remove the sub speaker wires from the sub and connect the sub woofer speaker wires together the door speakers should work. In the '07 model which I have, the rear sub can only be disconnected at the speaker if want want to keep the back doors powered. There is a thread on here about how to accomplish this. I believe it's in the Newbie sticky at the top of the board. Relpy back if I've misunderstood anything.
