Default A3 vs VW GTI today!

Well, on the way back home today I ran into our cousin... a 2006 VW GTI. I knew that this race would be special because he sported a GMG Racing Frame with a GMG dummy plate insert which basically says "I'm chipped." So we both stop at the stoplight and I look to my right to see if he wants a taste of the A3 but I got nothing. I shift into S and the light turns green and keep up nose to nose and still no bite from about 3.5k. I begin to give up and then all of a sudden he floors it and I quickly follow with about 1/4 sec delay. This gives him 1 car length but were both equal accelrating at the same rate up to 80mph. He then pulls in front of me to seal the deal and I decide to end the little pursuit so I dont miss my turn. I slam on my brakes and watch the GTI dissapear.

I've actually seen this guy on two other occasions so I know he must work nearby me. Next time we run into eachother wont be the same once I get my APR Exhaust and Stage II software installed.

Now as for flames... I dont care what you do with your car so dont care with what I do with mine.

Cool.

I was feeling good after my productive run with the Mustang GT yesterday. Tonight a Porsche pulled up next to me at a light when I was going home. He started off and gased it a little, then I jumped into second a little ahead of him, then he pushed a little ahead of me, then we both floored it. I was in third at 4k rpms when he gunned it so the car was ready to go. The guy just blasts past me and I see the 4S on the rear end. I've never gone so fast and been that embarrassed in my entire life. That P-car is frickin fast! I guess that I knew I was going to get smoked, just not that bad.

You should try driving one of these. Immune to Porsche attacks

i've been looking for a 350z and a G35 coupe on the street to race, but haven't found one yet, the only people that drive those are like 80year-olds that i've seen.

Ditto to that. Those two are also on my wish to kill list. I also want to race a stock A3 to show them what they're missing. Ahhh... being stuck at work sucks.

Rather than street race, you can just divide the cars mass by its horsepower, add a little bit of advantage to RWD, and declare your winner.

Sorry, you must be an engineer. You've just taken all of the fun, passion, and thrill out of perfectly dangerous activity. Shame on you!

but you also have to factor in response time at the light, how heavy the driver is, how good/bad the driver is, automatic/manual tranny, turbo(better low end torque)/natural asperated(peak hp/torque @ near redline) i think it's best just go to a local racetrack and make a few G35/350z friends.

Chef,

i talked to my apr dealer, he said he chipped some pregnant chick's A3 here in SD, put on APR's full exhaust, the new carbonio intake and she put on the 100 octane program, i'm waiting for her to dyno it, the dealer says he'll share the info with me once she dynos it. i just got the 93 octane program in and he's putting on the 100 octance program FOR FREE next month. =) supposedly, the 100 octane is giving and extra 15-20 hp added on top of the 93 octane, so i'm guessing around 270ish hp and 315ish lbs of torque for 100 octane. i'm definately bringing my baby to the tract once i get the 100 octane. (that's without the exhaust) if i got exhaust, that's a good 290-300 hp and 325ish lbs of torque, that's only if my engine doesn't blow up by then.
