Default About REVO Stage 2 upgrade

I just brought my 09 A3 2.0TFSI Premium quattro.
Keep getting beaten by BMW 135i.
Im looking for a stage 2 / stage 3 upgrade to beat 135i.

What hardware do i need to upgrade in order beat 135i and how much $$ do i need?

Can anyone list the parts and price??

PS:i don't want too much noise though...

Thanks!

hi tonyz
i have a 07 2.0t revostage 2 with carbonio intake and milltek turboback plus some h&r premium coilovers that weight less than stock and im no where near beating a 135! revo should be 499 i think for stage 1 plus 50 for stage 2 but you'll have to get an intake and turboback with it. the turbo back will cost the most and if you dont want too much noise just go with a resonated one. perhaps the new apr rscs will work pretty well. the milltek's have a nice groan not too loud either. awe also makes gd exhausts and you can listen to clips on their website. if you really wanna BEAT a 135 i suggest you either get a new car or upgrade to a k04 turbo kit atleast or an apr stage 3 kit which will for sure beat a stock 135. k04s give you around 300+ hp depending on other hardware. the whole kit isnt cheap check the price at awe.com apr stage 3 is almost 8k i think and it gives you 380hp. u might wanna check if you're dsg can take that kinda power if you got the dsg. i didnt do any brake upgrades with the mods i have now but if you go big turbo you'd probably wana upgrade your brakes too. i think you'll probably end up spending a significant amount and i think it might not be worthet. you'll probably be able to buy a 135i with those mods. plus i dont think a3's have such great build quality that im gonna be keeping the car for a long time for that kinda investment. anyways goodluck! p.s. tfsi mods might not be compatible to some of the fsi mods so check on that too.

Twin turbo V6, dynoed around 290-300hp. Not the prettiest car around, but it's going to cost you to beat it!

Interesting thread on the GolfM5 forum:

The DSG is good to 400hp; above that, upgraded clutches are recommended.

135 is hard to beat. He has 2 more cylinders and one more turbo than you. Race him in snow, that should work.

Take it from someone who's been down the modding path - if you do it to make your own A3 driving experience more enjoyable, do it. But if you do it to "beat" other cars that stock are significantly more performing than the A3 - forget it. It's a waste of time and money. You might as well go in and trade it in for a 135i, and you'll be better off.

Try posting your question on vortex. Plenty of Stage 2 owners there. This isn't exactly the most active forum for A3.
