Air Bag warning light

RE: Air Bag warning light
jhon;
Go talk to your dealership's service guy. When I was in for my 5K service back in December - they had told me about a silent recall going on for the airbag software. I had not gone back in to get it done yet - he said that it was not like the airbags would not work - but they needed to reflash the code because there were issues popping up when the car did the diags on startup. He did say if - airbag warning light went on - come in as soon as possible.

Heya, had the same issue on my GTI which uses the same seat belt buckle, as the audi, apparently a sensor can go bad in the belt, and it will not make a circuit to arm the air bags(hopefully you are in warranty) the part was like 3-400 hundred to get replaced and installed, get to the dealer, you dont' wanne be without the bags..

I had that too, its like something got 'knocked' out of place and the light stayed on. Unfortuntately I live in the Middle East so I had to wait two months for them to fix it as airbags are made of explosive stuff so they had to be careful shipping the new airbag!
