Air intake
You will find a lot of info by searching this forum - but I think the consensus is that it is a preventative measure, but definitely not necessary. I've had the Neuspeed P-flow for about 9 months with the stock DV - no issues. I do recommend getting a boost gauge so you'll know if the DV begins to leak.

Hi im new here, but i wanna get the evoms intake, and i was wondering if i would need to change my dv as well? Will the dv break more easily with the aftermarket intake?

what year is your A3? I think 06 and prior models have weaker rings in their DV's and have had issues with cracking and leaking. Post 06 the stock DV was changed and strengthened. Also think its more of an issue with chipped A3's, not so much with intake only.
Kory, I think ima pick up a the vent gauge, but my clumbsy *** will probably screw up the install! ha.

I have the 2007 model, and will it still be running the same boost as the stock with the aftermarket air intake?

Fusionx- everyone seems to be able to install on their own. If I'm not that handy, do u really suggest lettin a pro install the gauge? Did you install yours?

Brodie- Don't get me wrong, by all means you can do it yourself but mistakes can lead to boost leaks, torn vacuum hoses, rattling guages, and other problems poor installment can cause. I had a guy do mine that hadn't done one before and I ended up with a torn vacuum hose and I had to spend 60$ to get it repaired. Id just say if I were to do it all over again id get a pro to install it. If you live in So cal I can refer you to a guy who can do an awsome job
To be honest anyone can do a vent gauge install. I will admit I put it on the wrong vaccum line. But if needed I would right a better guide with pictures that everyone has taken. Also its a 2hr job no matter what. Because your going to take your time and get it right. Its easy if your even a little bit mechanical.
