Default Annoying black line in my display, help needed.

Hi there,

I bought a second hand A33.2 V6 of 2 years old. Recently I noticed that there is an annoying black line in the display. It is the diplay in the middle of the dashbord where the temp, nav & radio info etc is shown. The black line shows up even better if you go into another menu function as the normal function has two somewhat yellow lines that segregate the three parts of the display that are gone in some menu functions. At the dealer they first fixed this as they thought there wasa row of pixels blown. After the repair the black line still shown up (!!). Another guy from the same dealer told me later that this line is normal. Can you believe it? after they installed a brand new panel!! Anyway is there anyone that can confirm that this black line is indeed normal?

Cheers!

My A3 has the same kind of black line, it is like one pixel row down from the split between the top 1/3rd and middle 1/3rd of the screen. When your screen is showing Radio Info/Please Refuel/ESP Off/etc on the top of the screen and Trip Computer in the middle, this black line should be right between those two sections. I will try to snap a picture of mine and you can see if it is in the same place.

What is that menu that is shown in your picture? I've never seen that before. How did you access it?

Glad to hear that your's has the same black line. At least I know it is normal allthough I believe this is some sort of "bug" from audi as it is not nice. The menu option you see on the picture is the one which I get when I press the reset button once. If you can show me a picture of your black line that would be great.

Cheers.

Snapped some pics. The line on mine doesn't seem as prominent, maybe because the garage door was open so it was pretty light when I took the pics. Anyways it's still noticeable. I think I mis-stated in my last post, it is one pixel line UP from the top divider. It is especially visible when the top 1/3rd is yellow (ESP Off, Low Fuel) because the blank line is right between the red and yellow portions of the screen.

I have the same black line. Thankfully it never cuts through any of the panel readings, so it's an extraordinarily minor gripe.
