any regrets?
No regrets. I didn't special order my car, the only time I've not done that. I would have pulled some options off the list if they weren't pre-packaged, as I did when I special ordered my Bimmer.
For instance, I didn't want the cold pkg whatsoever. It just doesn't get cold enough here. For instance, I'd drive my Miata around on sunny winter days with the top down. If the cold weather included headlight washers, I'd be down with that. But, in negotiations, I ended up getting the cold weather thrown in for free.
This past winter, I never turned the heater on, just the bun warmers. And I've come to enjoy those seat heaters a great deal. I just love the feel of the cold air in the car, but a warm seat. Nice.
I got all the options except NAV and Bose. I hate Nav, and I'll up grade my speakers in thefuture. I hate power seats also, so the newpower sport seats would actuallyhave been an irritant and not an "upgrade". A manual lumbar would have been nice. For the missing shelf net, I stole the one from my Bimmer and it works really well.
I just hope electrical bugaboos don't makeme hate this car in the years to come.

I wish my '06 had rear window shades like on the '08. My kids are always complaining about the sun. I suppose a tint job would help, but I'd still prefer the shades...it's a nice upscale luxury.

EDIT: Wouldn't you know it, the next post down had some '08 pics, including the sunshades. (https://www.audiforums.com/m_615810/tm.htm) They don't look bad, but I think I'd rather invest the money in a nice tint job.

I have two. One minor - should have gotten a darker interior instead of the beige. It gets grungy looking very easily - especially when the weather starts to turn here.
Other regret is - I should have gotten the color that my wife absolutely did not like. This way she wouldn't be as interested in driving it.

Ah, you hit that one on the head, L7. I wish I would've got a darker interior as well. I actually wanted black leather interior, but I couldn't find lava grey w/ black interior anywhere in the state and I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse on the one I got. The beige is really hard to keep clean, especially since mine's cloth.
I do really like the look of my interior though.

No regrets about what I got and what I didnt get at all.
My A3 2.0T with Premium/S-Tronic/Open-Sky/Cold Weather Pkg is what I wanted and that was it.
Perhaps only the color I would think twice on now I can say. Very hard to keep black clean and free of swirl marks and scratches.
At first my mind was only set on black, but the fact that its hard to keep shiney and you can see scratches on black, it makes me enjoy the white A3 with the black open sky top. The open sky looks great on a white A3. But the shiny black A3 in the show room sold me. It looks sleek and sharp, when its washed and waxed of course.

Hi d2mini - It would probably have been the 'dakar beige metallic' - but, I don't know if I could have tolerated that color.
Bamf - I thought we had discussed the prospects of a black leather interior in Florida - would'nt that have gotten really hot during the summer months. And after seeing the grey interior - I'm thinking that would probably be easier to clean during the winter months. Oh well. C'est la vie.
