Well...
I am not your service manager, but I believe the law says no...
but I am not a lawyer either.

Besides, if you are really worried you can get a Vag-Com CAN adaptor and erase the little tattle tale codes before you go in and plead ignorance.

My favorite ever was on my B5 when I over-revved one day and a code pops up "Engine RPM exceeded, warranty VOID" , my finger accidentally hit the delete key after that.

As for whether its for looks or performance, I'd say both, but mostly performance. I drive down dark streets at times and most other cars here have Xenons and bright lights. When they come towards me in the opposite direction, its harder for me to see in front ...

sorry illwork4sumbread.. didnt mean to hijack your post!

the guy from ultrabrightlights.com said the following:

We can get you an HID kit for your Audi A3 which will plug right up simply and easily. The kit you would want is a 5300K kit which is very white in color, I'd also offer you a 6000K which is very light blue which I believe resembles the stock Audi color a little better, but it is all personal preference. As far as manufacturers warranty, in the USA a warranty for a specific car part which is aftermarket can only effect the warranty of the vehicle or the specific system it is attached to (HID Kit = wiring and headlamp, Exhaust = Engine, etc). Also your warranty can only be void if there is undeniable evidence that the aftermarket caused a defect in the car.

On your site http://www.ultrabrightlights.com for the H7 it says "Vehicles using the H7 set up might experience a problem connecting the adapter to the stock harness"

Please elaborate.

Also is there a combo kit that includes both the H7 High Beam and H11 Low Beam and a single ballast to run both ?
Have they been "aligned" to work in Halogen Lenses?

Yeah, Sorry about that. I wasn't paying attention and thought that was a vendor piping in.
I used their online form and submitted a question regarding this along with a link to this thread asking for a response.

I will post response if I get it, but it would be nice if they jumped in directly.

I've been thinking about these housings: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...productID=5668
and either of these HID conversions: http://www.lltek.com/about_HID.htm or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6732218&rd=1,1

The housings are pretty expensive at $850, but they look great. Anybody else got these housings and a HID conversion kit?

An HID kit will not work as well as the OEM Bixenon option because the OEM headlight is designed for HID bulb, resulting in perfect beam pattern and light distribution.

An HID kit may void warranty on headlight an electrical system because, while the HID bulbs only draw 35W during operation, on startup, the ballasts draw huge current to establish the HID arc.

The best way to go is to get an OEM headlight housing, then a D1S HID system, then use VAG-COM to adjust everything (if this is possible)

For lighting performance (not looks) you can consider modifying H9's to fit in the low beam (which use H11), or buy the European headlight from ECS, which use H7 in the low beam. There are 150% bulbs available in H7, i.e., Osram Silverstar or Philips Vision+, that are not available in H11.

I modified H9's and installed them in my low beams. The beam is noticeably brighter, but the beam pattern does not change, i.e., don't expect too much more illumination distance.

Do the Euro HID housings take different bulbs than the US HID housings?

I'm considering buying 2007 A3 2.0T within a month.

Is Xenon headlight standard feature?

If not, do I have to include Technology package for Xenon?
