Audi A3 2001 H1 H.I.D Conversion. Is it possible?
Over the weekend I bought an Audi A3 (01 plate), my first modification i wanted to do is the lights. I had some H7 H.I.D bulbs and ballasts so i installed them into the factory headlights. But.... they only came on when you put the full beams on (because the H7 is for full beam), and also it created an extremely bad light pattern (the light was being dispersed everywhere.)
I went back to the drawing board, and discovered H.I.D kits are also available in H1, so i bought a set of these, and this time i replaced them with the main beam bulbs, which have a projector lens. I have tried and tested it, and it works perfectly. But my question is, will it be safe, because of the heat generated by the xenon bulb in the long term?
Also one last issue, i put new 55W full beam H7 Bulbs back in, but only the right side works, and the left side full beam bulb does not come on. I have switched the bulbs over, and the bulbs do not seem to be the problem. If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.
P.S: I bought 35W H.I.D's not the 55W.
