Default Audi A3 Black Edition - Faulty Alarm

hi all,

Just a quick one to see if anyone else has an answer to the problem.
Got my Audi A3 Black Edition in September 09 and love it!!

Recently the alarm has been going off randomly in the middle of the night. High pitch beeping with hazard lights and indicators flashing. I've tried to disable the interior sensors (using button on driver door), but my neighbours tell me that the alarm still goes off.

Took the car back to Audi and they said they couldnt find a fault with the alarm. The best they could do was to turn down the sensitivity of the sensors by 50%. Anyway, again, the alarm went off last night and my neighbours are really getting ticked off.

I'm taking the car back to Audi tomorrow morning but fear that they will just come back with the same conclusion.. no fault found.

Something is obviously wrong and especially on a brand new car, this is very frustrating.

Has anyone had this or know why it might be playing up? Is there a way to just disable the alarm all together? I don't really care much for alarm systems and the beeping and horns going off. If it's gonna get stolen, it will do. The alarm has done nothing but caused grief.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hopefully Audi will figure it out!

Talking Here's the answer...

I had exactly the same problem with the 09 Black Edition. It turned out that there is in fact a fault with the alarm software which requires an update. Audi collected and returned my car, fixed under warranty, within a few hours. Sorted!
