Black taillights
The law is that they must REFLECT red. Tinting them isn't illegal because the lights aren't as bright (but could be a problem), they are illegal because after you tint them, they do not reflect red (when your lights are off).
If you look at the Lexus RX330 or RX400h or whatever, the tail lights are COMPLETELY white. But down on the bumper there are 2 big reflectors....
It looks nice, but I don't think it's worth getting pulled over for....

Thanks for the link, but do you think "taillamps shall be red in color" means when they are off or on? That might be a stupid question but they really don't specify so if I got pulled over I might be able to argue that as my defense.

I just wish they made aftermarket lights for the US A3's and then I wouldn't have to worry about it...I hate the red even if they were clear and red it would be better...in my opinion.
