Default Brake light question

I apologize for probably a very simple question but I am new to the Audi family and have recently bought a 06 a3. I have come to realize the drivers side brake light is out and I am willing to change it.
My question is how do I get to the light? Has anyone out there changed there's? Before I start ripping apart I am wondering what easy steps there are to get the job done.
Thanks for anyones input.
Cheers

Very easy. There is a panel that pops open and the light twists in and out easily. Just give it a look and you'll be able to figure it out.

Cheers!

Yes. There is a little oval shaped panel that pops open in the back. Inside is a plastic nut looking thing - you can either use a socket or a flat head screwdriver on it. I used a screwdriver.
Turn that nut to loosen the light assembly careful not to let it drop inside the body panel. Remove the nut completely. Then grab the light assembly on the outsidewith both hands and gently while firmly pulling pop it outof the two plugs located more towards the front. It will be kind of firm.
On the back of the assembly are two nuts which you can loosen by hand. Take those off and gently seperate the back of the assemble from the front. Watch out for the seals.
After that you will be able to have access to the bulbs.
I just changed thedriver side outside brake light on Wednesday. Took about 45 minutes because I was being extra careful. Next time around - I bet it will take only about 25 minutes.
Chef -did I miss any steps?

Wow. I haven't changed the lights on this car yet, but I saw the access panel. Didn't realize the you had to unbolt the assembly before pulling it out. It seems like a fairly straightforward process, but I would definitely be careful to not drop the bolts. I imagine it would be a PITA to have to fetch those bad boys.

Cheers!

When I had mine tinted, it went like this... I backed the car into the garage, and by the time I was out of my car they had the first light out. Even though they were pros, it can't be that hard.

It's not as bad as it sounds. I just replaced the right brake light in my 07 this morning for the first time and it took me less than 10 minutes. The only tool you need is a flat head screwdriver. FYI the bulb is a # 7506. When I went to Advance Auto Parts to have them look it up for me they gave me the wrong bulb. I did not realize it until I removed the old bulb, then unfortunately had to make a return trip to the store to swap it out.
