Since day one of the purchase of my A3, 07, dsg, i've had the carbonio intake,
I have currently 5k miles on the car and decided to add a mod to the list but not any mod, i had a hunch that my cai (carbonio) was not performing to what i thought it should. So i recently changed it and bought a Evoms cai with heat shield and engine cover. My friend Chef was somewhat skeptical of the decision, because i already had a cai. I should've listened to Falcom along time ago when him and i got into a heated discussion about him saying that all carbonio was is a stock air box, man was he right.

I've just installed the Evoms cai and the difference is night and day, enough that i felt it straight away.
Now alot of guys might think i'm a little f'up in the head, but those guys might just be the ones with a carbonio intake.

So if we go back and check the differences between the two.

Carbonio.
1.very nice carbon box that keeps intake temps down, 2. comes with a flat high performance filter. utilizes stock squished passage to the turbo. 3. Intake point when you open your hood you'll see 4 to 5 vent holes leadinginto the carbon box, but when you closeclose the hood those vents close also so your intake is limited at best.

Evoms.
1. Big cone filter with heat shield unlimited air intake, 2.huge tube or pipe leading to the turbo3. unobstructed passage

To those on the market for an cai, i hope this helps. Oh btw i have a carbonio intake for sale will almost give it away, any bidders? lol

I've had 'proper' induction kits in the past on my 1.8T and the Carbonio I got today ain't one of those. Enjoy your Evoms.

Glad you like your new purchase Stryker. I knew the performance of the EVOMS would be better, but I personally wouldn't spend the money on the new CAI if I already had the Carbonio. I guess it matters more if your modding is based on looks rather than performance. Personally, I'm a performance guy.

My exact point looks i like to be on the body of the woman, i'm sorry car, and performance on the engine, it would be a sin to get the two confused with each []ther.

It's amazing on how you can really hear, and feel the turbo now.

Bearing in mind thatthe total extent of my tool box is a flat head screwdriver, 13mm spanner and a spoon (I used to run aircooled Beetles, what do you want me to say?) would you think that I'd have any trouble removing the 'unit' as you call it? Wasted on me anyway. I drive like a granny most of the time. I only got it for the nice badge on the glovebox and so I can say 'Audi Quattro' when people ask me what I drive.
