Well, if you talk nice to me, maybe I'd take you on a flight in the A3? I work 2 blocks from LAX. Honestly, my A3 isn't a whole lot slower than that S4. It's just that the S4 does it so much more gracefully, with a deep low growl, while my car screams in your face.

I figure that if I'm having to keep the A3, then it's time to spend some of the insurance money on mods. When I get the injury payouts, then it's the Tein Coilovers and Brake upgrades for my lady. I'm still debating on the full VF mounts. I like the smoothness of the car now and don't want to add any engine vibration. OR, if I get enough on the payouts, maybe I'll do the Quaiffe LSD and Stage III clutch? That would ready the car for the big turbo...now comes the scary kind of dreams...the ones that I can do. The bigger turbo would put me much faster than the S4. Hmmmmm........
The dealership must be flipping when you drive in for service.

The difference between S4 and a mod A3 is exactly that, you get the performance and the bells and whistles but everything is stock. You can improve if you want to, but then again why? To get to a ticket .1 second faster??? …. mmmmm … Well, thinking about it, maybe it is worth it!

Oh, and a coffee show??? Pray tell.

Maybe I need to attend??? Being a chef and all...
Off topic – yes there is a coffee show but it is more than just coffee, it should be pretty big this year,http://www.scaa.org/conference/index.asp - you are more than welcomed to attend. PM me if you want a badge. Maybe you already are a client of ours!?!

LA here I come in a brand new rented Ford Taurus… The way you guys drive in California [sm=gears.gif], I should get comprehensive coverage… Bunch of A3 trigger happy people and tree hugging, dent giving Beetle drivers… So I have heard …

I've played with a newer S4 on the highway in my A3, and I'm not too far away from being dead even as far as power. Problem comes with the corners and no Quattro, then the S4 will rip me up. With a LSD, bigger turbo, and coilovers,I should level the playing field considerably. Now we are talking more of a S3 against S4 competition.

I looked up the coffee expo and it is 4 days??? I started wondering what they could talk about for 4 days, then realized everyone would be so wired off the coffee, that is just the amount of time everyone will be awake before their body goes into shock and shuts down. LOL I think that the conference would be neat, but not sure about the whole registration process. I work for ARAMARK and I'm sure we are a customer of one nature or another.

Let me know if you jones too much and I'll give you a blast in the A3.

Cheers!

You had me going for a minute there. Not sure if I should be really angry or happy that you're not leaving the A3 board. So what's in the works regarding your current car?

Damn Chef, got me for a whole night, i couldn't sleep.

no wonder your story was a bit iffy, cause i remember you telling stories when you just got your A3, having being really patient to break the car in, and here you are with an S4 and roaring up your engine right off the lot.
