If the errordoes not reocure then first the "check engine" light will go away and eventually the code will be purged.I've heardturning your car on and off 20 times is enough to clear old codes.

 

I was just talking to a shop who does audi/VW and they said the misfire code happens alot and its due to several things including bad gas and such. the code cleared and it hasent come back on so I will just wait and see what happens next.

fyi it only took about 2 or 3 starts for it to clear.

 

Yeah, it can be a common fault, and I wouldn't worry about it a lot, unless it happens again. However, I would still pull the plugs and take a look. I had my plugs out at 19k miles and noticed they were all gapped differently. I ended up swapping them out and the car ran much better.
