If you have an aftermarket downpipe, most have very high flow cats, some even no cats. Most(if not all) without ECU reprogramming will throw a check engine light. It'll work, but you will have the beautiful orange light staring at you all the time.

My A4 is about due for its 15k service. I think I'll wait till Audi of West Covina opens and take it there for service.

About not being able to reflash after the dealer updates the ecu, I heard it's because of version difference.

if you do go to west co, let us know how they are, they would be my ideal dealership(by location). Mkkenna is just too far for me.

and the ECU it is about the version difference, but APR has already accomidated for this new version that came out so no worries.

Luckily I had confirmation from Superchips that the dealer flash won't cause me any problems.

I asked this

I also wanted to confirm that if I use my bluefin to go back to stock prior to my first service (in about 500 miles) a reflash by the muppets at my local stealer won't cause me any problems?
They replied

The bluefin checks you software code and if it is different it re-reads your car. You then need to reconnect to our servers once you have notified us you are going to do so. This is so we can enable the upload.
This wasn't meant to **** anyone off.

However, this is meant to **** everyone off.

It's the new map from Superchips for the S3. Not wildly off topic, I just thought Chef might appreciate it.... No?

Can you imagine the kick in the pants starting at 3k rpms with the Superchip???

Thanks Rich. I was starting to feel really bad about the short comings in my car, then I realized something. I purchased an A3 Sportback S-line with Open Sky, Bose, Satellite Radio and 5 year paint protection for only 20,410 Euros. Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

Cheers!

Well Rich, maybe we'll get the Q over here after all, then you can come to the US to buy your car and save some dough? Hey, why don't you come this weekend to our GTG on the coast in California? It'll be a great time and I hear that Hertz will rent you an Audi at LAX. Bring some Euros to buy in to the Texas Holdem Game.

Cheers!
