Default Dealer oil differs from manual

Can you guys / gals confirm that your dealers (or whomever is doing your oil changes), are using Castrol 0W-30? That is what my dealership is saying is the only oil they use (and have been putting in my car since I bought it). I would assume that the Audi dealership knows best, but my manual says nothing about that weight. It's not even in the top 3 recommended for my car. WTF?

Thanks for the link hesaputz. I called my dealer back and talked to the service Mgr. I got a completely different answer than the first time - Castrol 5w-40. This inspires great confidence in my service reps! I'll have to review my service records to see exactly what they've been putting in my car.

Just had my first 5000 maintenance done today at the dealership. They used W90-540S Castrol Syntec(5W-40) which is one of the oils that conforms to the VW 502 00 specs.

Castrol 5W-40 is Audi's recommended oil. Any oil that meets the VW 502 00 spec is fine though. 0W-40 will actually perform better.

I will have to double check, but I think my dealer uses Mobile-1

Mobile 1 from the dealer? Nice if that's true.

Just had my 5000 mile service done, the dealer used Castrol 5w-40. Asked them NOT to wash my car, but they did anyway. [:@]

I had a change done at 2300 miles and used Pentosin 5w-40 from ECS Tuning.
