does your turbo glow??

Hi, I just noticed an issue on my turbo.
after a decent drive home last night I popped my hood and my turbo was glowing....is it normal?

The turbo runs at well over 150,000rpm, so it does generatea little bit of heat!

EGT can also reach over 1000 degrees. That would make most any metal glow.

I guess the real point I would make is that you need to be idling your car until the turbo stops glowing, or it will, ummm, stop glowing, or working at all for that matter.
