2009 Audi A3 FWD/DSG

My transmission casing is cracked and clutch packs/dmf are toast. I've contacted everyone in my area about swapping my mech unit into a used dq250 core. They tell me it's not possible because the trans is vin specific. I'm having major surgery soon and I really wish I could get down on it a few more times before my procedure. I love my A3 dang it so please enlighten me.

so what happened? did you recode another tcm?

 

Geico totaled my A3 after a hail storm, so we purchased a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost.
