The Milltek sounds a lot like the GReddy, but maybe even a little more quiet. I really like the sound of both but have heard people complain that the Milltek isn't loud enough. So???

I think that one of the SoCal videos has some audio of my exhaust. Maybe you can PM i3udda or I might be able to find the clip?

I personally think that you'll like either choice.

Cheers!

With the 3"DP and at WOT in a somewhat enclosed neighborhood, my exhaust can set off alarms.
I love the way it sounds when I go in an alley, or enclosed area. However, it doesn't drone while at speed on the highway. You can still hear it when on the throttle at highway speed, but it doesn't drone.

I hope that helps.

Hey all, I'm a bit new on here so I apologize too if this has been talked about before, but I'm curious if you have any info on 3.2 specific exhausts or anyone that has upgraded the exhaust on a 3.2. The stock engine already has a slightly more "throaty" sound than the 2.0 but I'd love to get it a bit more throaty still. Maybe something more on the intake end? Any thoughts?
thanks.

I don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but has anyone had experience with the Borla Exhaust or the Techtonics Toning with the Borla(s)? Thanks for your comments.

I love the AWE and thats what im planning to get. The catback has an awsome price that you cant beat along with an awsome sound.

I personally think Milltek is a HUGE WASTE of money mostly because of how quiet it is and in the videos it sounds BARELY modified and if I were paying that much for exhaust id want a good sound to it...

The APR downpipe has a great price and sound but because it doesn't have any cats so your gonna get screwed when you get smog checked.

IMO AWE gets my vote

If power is the question, then AWE clearly has the handle on that. All the 3" exhausts (Milltek, et al) have so much exhaust mass to pump out the tailpipe they end up killing low end torque. AWE is 2.5", and doesn't have that problem.

But the problem with the A3 is that the cat-back section is actually pretty well tuned, it's the down-pipe that needs help. And the AWE downpipe matched with their cat-back is good for"~20 crank hp and 14 ftlbs crank torque over the stock turbo back exhaust, while the 3" system could only muster ~9 crank hp and 1.5 ftlbs crank torque over the stock turbo back exhaust." And they have the dyno pulls to prove it.
