Default figured out how to carry two labs

I'm not sure how many of you have large dogs, if you do you might be interested (or if you have a large girlfriend you may be interested too).

I got tired of my two labs sliding all over the place in the back (with the seats folded down), they hated it and the plastic under the spare tire cover kept squeaking at every bump.

To take care of it I cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to the same shape as the rear floor and glued/stapled some heavy black carpet on it (both sides so it does not slide) and left a nice sized flap that rolls up over the rear seats when they are folded down. So far this is working great and actually looks reasonably nice, of course when the rear seats are up you don't even know it is there. The dogs can actually grip the carpet so they don't get tossed around the car quite as badly.

Here are a couple of pics I snapped.

Right now the carpet hangs over the headrests and even past a couple of inches. I like it hanging over the headrests so the dogs don't scratch them up.

Tried it out today, I took the dogs to the riverfront, which means a couple of miles of nice windy roads, they had no problem getting slung back and forth. On the first turn you could hear them dig their nails in, but they didn't get slung around at all.

shoot, nevermind. The smallest pic I can take is 520 kb. I have three pics if someone can post them somewhere.

There are online sources to resize pictures. I would check places like MyImager.com, Flickr.com, PictureTrail.com, Photobucket.com, etc., etc.

Looks like that will work well! I have a husky and a greyhound so might have to do something similar.
I wish they'd figure out a way to fold the rear seat bottom forward so then the seat back would lay flat.
