i just got my new a3 2.0t not long ago, and its freaking hot. as i looked up the forum, the apr chip is the first choice right? but it cost 699, which is equal to a cai + a downpipe, so here is the question, do the chipping or cai + downpipe? does cai & downpipe gives similar hp gains as the chip?
i need some advicessss thank you =.=

 

from what i have heard around the APR ECU is the best bang for the buck, it should give you 40-50hp. i have heard mixed things about the CAI. most say it add at most 5-10hp, if that. The cai and exhasust would give your car a nice sound, but probably at most 15-20hp (if that at all). From what i hear, go with the ECU flash and worry about the other things later.

 

What Mark80scu said, plus with a APR ECU upgrade you get about a 46% bump in torque at 93 octane. Pretty serious increases in HP and torque!

 

cai doesnt really give you any hp, the only thing youll gain is more sound from the turbo and diverter valve. chip it first like mark said youll get the most bang for your buck. next time try searching the forums first.

You will definately get more bang for your buck with the APR chip. As others have said the CAI is not going to really give you a lot of HP or torque where the 93 octane APR ECU upgrade will get you 252hp/303lb-ft. of torque.

 

Did anybody say chip it? Flashing your computer outweighs the best CAI, and exhaust no questions asked.
