First week driving report Audi A3 S-Line 3.2
I love it! I'm such a wimp, I'm not flooring it until the recommended break in period (1000 miles), but I'm at about 300 now. The only think I did was put my Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS in it (highly recommend this option over the factory installed GPS, mostly for the portability of it), and I tinted the windows (35 tint all around). I am still considering getting winter or all season tires (with steel rims) for the winter, but undecided because we get such mild winters here... advice? oh, I am buying rubber mats and wheel locks too, almost forgot.
Pros: feels like it could start sprinting any instant. Looks awesome, color is incredible, very subtle... hey, its a wagon (kinda). Has more tech features than any car I've ever owned and I learn something new every day. I can park anywhere, so easy, just the right size for me. Like the Audi forums (audiworld.com too) and Audi ownership espirit-de-corps... I see them every where now. The interior is perfect, could not design it better myself, just perfect.
Cons: a little less leg room in the back seat (I like to drive coworkers to lunch, so this was noticed). I feel I'm becoming paranoid about someone door dinging it or stealing it. The alarm isn't as good as my previous car. The gas milage isn't as good either, I'm getting about 16 mpg at the moment, and I expect it to go down when I start driving harder soon. What milage do you get?
Suggestions?
Audi A3 S-Line 3.2, 18" wheels, winter pkg., tech pkg., lava grey, Sirus radio, Blue Tooth

"Feels like it could start sprinting at any instant"
Exactly my same thoughts, and I have had my A3 for only 2 days, and its the 2.0T.
I feel your pain about someone dinging it and banging there door against it. This is why I park AWAY from other's, and if I cannot do that, I try to park next to another new vehicle.
But as far as gas mileage, its excellent, never had a car with better gas mileage than my A3.
It's supposed to give 28 mpg on gas, but havent gased it up yet. Picked my A3 up yesterday, full tank, drove it about 60 miles so far, and the needle barely has moved to much.
I am heading out today on my lunch to check out some rubber mats as well. It is a MUST for me.
I have BEIGE interior and I picked up my car in pouring rain yesterday, the salesman sat in the car with me going over stuff, he got the passenger side carpeting nice and dirty. You could totally see dirt on the BEIGE interior and its something I really am concerned about.
The 1st MODS that I will perform will include:
1st on the list and a MUST have for me: iPod connection.
Bluetooth also and Tinting of all the back windows.

I always get about 21MPG and my driving couldnt be more city style...i work 4 miles from home and that's my daily commute. If i can get 20mpg doing that, you should too. Oh and CHIP IT! adds tons of power and believe it or not, you get BETTER gas mileage at the same time!

Sounds like me, I am afraid of anything bad happening to the nice new interior or exterior! I figure it will happen soon, I have the 2.0T feels like it wants to jump too, although I have been keeping civil with it. My tank range thus far has been around 375-400 miles out of a tank. Mostly highway for me as well. Love it! The APR exhaust really has a nice note to it, sounds great.

I put another couple hundred miles on it this weekend, still totally in love with this car.
The gas milage doesn't seem to be as good as you guys are getting, I don't think there should be that much difference between the 2.0 adn 3.2. On my third tank now.
Couple questions:
- The car ROLLS backwards when I stop on a slope... I had to hold the break, like a normal clutch car. I know it has the DSG clutch, but this was a surprise to me, any tips?
- A buddy said I could get custom rubber mats, but not Audi brand and save a lot of money, any recommendations?
- It took some getting used to having the gas cap on the passengers side, but there are fewer people on that side of the pumps, so BONUS!
- Does putting a chip in my car void the warranty? Are there any drawbacks? Is this something I can do myself? Which chip is best?
Thanks for everyones input.

Hey man, congrats on the ride.
Unfortunately, people did overlook your trim level as there is no chip (currently) for the 3.2. And As far as gas mileage, 16 is low for now, but once your engine breaks in and you learn to drive efficiently.
Enjoy the Quttro!

The car rolling backwards...mine does the same thing. It's discussed in the manual. It's not my favorite, since my garage comes out onto a sloped ally. Must apply the handbrake...which is located in a horrible place...should have put that one in the footwell. Totally interferes with armrest.
Do you notice a hesitation when the car initially goes into drive and you start rolling away? I'm thinking about taking mine in to see if this is normal.
As for the mats...I have a set of McNeal Weathertech mats that I've had in 4 different cars. They aren't perfect, but they do work. I would like to find something that works a little better. If you find something, please PM me.
Chip...not sure...but I have read that the 3.2 doesn't get big performance boost unless you do the exhaust, the intake, the chip...and at that point...yes, you'd void your warranty. I'm guess the chip would definately void it...I know changing the intake does...

I also have a sloped drive-way and it definetly does roll backward.
Last night I took it out for a drive and did an immediate K turn in the middle of the road to park, and when I had it in reserve it rolled backwards also, I had to put it into DRIVE right away, I didnt know how far back it would roll!!!
Also, I havent opened her up yet and tested much of the pick up and impact, its been less then 1 week since I had the car.
The fastest I have gone is 80mph and it did take off.
I have about 300 miles on it at this time, waiting till about 500 miles to open it up a bit more.
I also noticed on inclines when shifting from PARKED to DRIVE, its hard on the gear shift, makes a hard noise like I did something wrong.
Could be just paranoid since its a new car and dont want to mess up anything.
As for the mats, I got my RUBBER Winter mats at WAL-MART. Also bough a can of SCOTCHGARD for the carpeting where the mat doesnt cover. But have yet to spray it on because I dont want to ruin that new car scent.
Chipping my A3? Hmmm I am sketchy about that, even if its done at the dealer. For me its just the right amount of power as it is. I have the 2.0T and came from a Jeep Wrangler, so this is a big change for me in speed. Loving my A3 just the way it is.
I will do internal modifications for now. In about 1 month I will be installing the iPod connection and Bluetooth possibly.
