Fit a Half-Stack in an A3?

Fit a Half-Stack in an A3?
hey all,
considering a pair of purchases that have an odd relationship... an Audi A3 and a
guitar half-stack (head and 4x12 cab). i'm wondering if i need to reconsider either.
are there any guitarists on the board who may use their 3's to haul their gear? and
if so, is it possible to fit a head, 4x12 cab, and a few guitars in the hatch? forgive
me if this is too off topic, i just thought i'd run it by you all before i make any
assumptions. any help at all is appreciated!
thanks!

That is part of the reason I bought an A3. I fit a Marshall half stack, JCM 800, pedalboard, backpack, and two guitars. I can't fit any of the PA unless I get creative...but the guitar stuff is no problem.
I can also fit, although not ideal, my two Dobermans in there. 180 pounds of dog.
It's a great compromise over an SUV.
Enjoy.

You won't be able to fit a halfstack in the hatch alone; you would have to put the rear seats down. I'm not even sure you can get a 4x12 cab in the back of an A4 Avant without doing the same.
On a side note, the A3 has been perfect for hauling around a five-piece drum kit.

Thanks so much for your post, badassbill. The list your rattled off is almost EXACTLY what i'll be dealing with! I'm freakin' stoked to hear you can get it all in an A3.

And thanks for the additional feedback, drumdork. I knew for sure I'd have to put the seats down if I had any hope of fitting all the gear in the car, but it's cool to hear it's working out so well for drums!
Thanks again to you both! I really appreciate the help!
Gonna pick up that new amp this week. (Blackstar Artisan 100) ...Now all i need is an A3!
Bring on the 09's!

I load my A3 up with a Marshall half stack, gear bag and a couple of guitars, no problem, as badassbill states. One thing I like about the A3 is how easy it is to fold the rear seat down - one lever, flip, done (each side, of course). The rear seat headrests aren't an issue like in the 01 S4 Avant I had previously - it couldn't be simpler. The rear seat does cant up at a slight angle so it isn't a perfectly flat loading area, but it works fine loading up a 4 x 12.
Enjoy that Blackstar; I understand they're killer amps!
