Is the Forge adjustable BOV spacer a real BOV?

Is the Forge adjustable BOV spacer a real BOV?
So I can't seem to find a solid answer for this...
Does the Forge adjustable BOV spacer actually vent everything to atmosphere, or does it just make the BOV sound (by venting a small amount)? I'll eventually be getting the Forge DV before chipping my car, but I'm interested in the BOV spacer. The fact that it's a 'spacer' makes it sound like it just imitates the sound of a real BOV, while still maintaining a DV's recirculation function.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

RE: Is the Forge adjustable BOV spacer a real BOV?
The spacers were both developed before I started with the company but from what I've observed during the prototyping of the DV replacement the car just doesn't care about the vented air, the logs with the spacer deviate no more than they would run to run without the spacer. I don't know specifically what is happening but I have three theories:
1. The amount of air vented is below the resolution of the MAF to detect
2. The amount of air vented is within the normal accpeted parameters of the ECU
3. The ECU ignores the MAF while it is actuating the DV and relies on the MAP

Yeah, I've noticed that my car didn't throw any codes or have a problem when I had what I consider to be a huge boost leak, losing 5-7psi. There must be a large tolerancethat the ECU allows?
Cheers!
