Gas Mileage with Chips
2.0T- YES get the chip for the 2.0T it is an amazing difference and totally worth the money. Its not like your loosing half your MPG because of this chip. After a week of getting my chip I got around 330 miles on a full tank and I drive pretty hard. I was debating between exhaust and a chip and a friend of mine put it this way. Exhaust is a reward to the people around you who hear it and the chip is a reward to yourself and I couldnt agree with it more.
3.2- If your loaded and you have the money to blow why not but its not something to save for and get because its not going to be a huge performance upgrade. It might get you better gas mileage on the freeway but not in the city.
If your looking to get better gas mileage I don't think the chip is the way to go. For performance, YES. I know there are many other chips for different cars that do give better gas mileage but unfortunatly I don't think they offer one for the A3.

I totally agree,, getting the APR chip is the first thing you should do when you roll away from the dealership.
But i don't see how you guys get that kinda mileage... i've had my car since new,, and living in Vegas,, ii is always "city" driving.... stop and go traffic 24/7, just like alcohol, casinos and strip clubs. i get about 22mpg. Yesterday,, i drove to Los Angeles in the morning and back at night. On the way there,, i got about 24 mpg,,, the night run back,, i got 25.5 mpg.... it's the best i've ever gotten. My avg speed for the round trip was 82 mph,,,, so,, i don't feel the milage is bad,,, but,,, i just have never seen these high numbers that you guys report.

go4dave...my mileage is due to the fact my car is a TDI.
Test drove a TT 2.T today...sucked through the gas at 7000rpm...me and the sales guy really ripping into that car...went through 2/3 of a tank on the test drive...wooooo hoooooooo!! I will still keep my TDI...love that car...but it did feel weird in a nice way to rev a car that high, hear the turbo...and that sweet sweet exhaust note!
As for chips...does Audi USA flash ABT chips? Here in Taiwan, I can get the ABT flash done at the dealership and have NO impact on my warranty! Anyone know how the ABT compares to Revo, APR, GIAC?

What dealership do you goto? I'm looking for a mod-friendly dealership. I usually take mine to Prime (used to be Clair) Audi in Norwood or Audi of Nashua.

Whatever you do, don't go toCindy. Avoid her like the plague. One time when I went in, I had a CEL because the stock DV blew. She proceeded to lecture me about how my aftermarket intake was the cause and that it's very dangerous to put aftermarket parts on the car, my warranty could be voided, I was lucky that she was going to let this one slid, yada yada. She gave me 3 lectures each about 5 minutes. Yea, I was ready to never return to that dealer until my buddy tipped me off to David.
There was also a "David" at a dealership near me. My friend was very open in telling him his mods and it wasnt until my friend had a major problem that this guy started blaming his mods. Rule #1, NEVER trust the dealership. There are many people who claim they are "mod friendly" so if something goes seriously wrong...they are just going to blame your mods and there goes mr mod friendly..
Don't trust them!!!

I was "told" that because we have 93 octane here that the 93 octane tune from APR will increase MPG because the stock computer is tuned for 91 octane because that is all they have in some places in the USA.. I get a little over 27MPG on average, I only have 2200 miles though..
