getting new rims... questions?? BBS Hartmann
I really like the BBS RS861 rims, and just got word of the Hartmann Euromesh 3 's. they are waaay cheaper than the BBS option and look great!
First off, anyone have the Hartmann's? are they pretty reputable, solid wheels?

Next, not sure if i should go with 18" or 19" rims. Are 19" wheels overkill for the A3? How much will they affect gas milage? And how much better handling/overall performance will I notice between these two options?
And lastly, will I need new/bigger brakes to handle my new bigger wheels?
Thanks ya'llll!!!
btw, I have a 2.0 (not yet chipped) A3. I also do plan on getting an aftermarket suspension...still deciding which one........hmmmmm.

Hartmann has a pretty good reputation but I don't know personally. You can find people to say good and bad about either.
My opinion is 18's. 19's look good but you have to go so low profile with the tires that can cause all sorts of issues. So 18's with shorter springs and shocks.
No you wont need to "mess" with your brakes.

Yeah, value of OEM stock rims on Craigslist is tricky. Those things are very expensive -- like $500-600 each if you purchased from dealer. Given that, I'd ask for like $500-$600 for the set - with decent tires. You're best chance is someone with a Jetta or GTI wanting to upgrade. I guess it really depends on how long you can wait for them to sell.
