As far as I know you can only get it from Ross Tech directly. I am not sure that it has any dealers.

Get the Micro-CAN version if you willwork ONLY on your A3 (and/or other Golf 5 based vehicles). Else, spend $100 more for the USB HEX+CAN version.

Don't know what you mean by upgrades? Are you referring to upgrading the software (Ross Tech provides it for free), upgrading your A3, or upgrading the cable itself?

I got mine last month from Ross-Tech. What an amazing tool!

So far I've:
[ul][*]Adjusted my steering boost to 3, 2, 1, 0 - settled on 1, at least with my winter tires. Sorry, those of you with '07 and '08's can't do this (yet).[*]Enabled heated mirrors (I don't have the Cold Weather package, but bought replacement mirrors with heating grids)[*]Modified settings of my key fob[*]Found and modified radio settings[*]Read the fault from a Check Engine Light, then clearedit.[*]Ran a baseline performance run to measure boost and torque (and derive horsepower). Lots more to do there - incredible capability.[/ul]
I haven't even scratched the surface of its diagnostic capabilities. The software that's used with the interface is quite impressive, too.

If you're likely to ever use it on other VAG models, I'd highly recommend the USB HEX+CAN version. Ross-Tech seems to have excellent customer support including very active participation (and sponsorship) in the VAG-COM forum over at Fourtitude:
