Default GPS system

Would anyone care to make a suggestion for a portable GPS system that works well and looks good in the A3? I was going to factory order the Audi Nav system but decided that it was way overpriced. Besides, I think I would rather have a portable unit so I can take it with me when I rent a car while on holiday.
I was looking at either the Garmin Nuvi 350, 360 or 660 systems. I tend to favor the Nuvi 350 or 360 because it's smaller size seems to look better in the A3.
Does anyone out there have any comments on these choices or have some suggestion for other units?

I was looking at the Garmin Nuvi 360, haven't made a decision yet. I also would prefer a portable GPS system for traveling. Very interested in this topic.

I also think the Garmin Nuvi 360 is a nice unit but I don't know if it's worth paying $100 more for it than the Nuvi 350 unless Bluetooth is important to you. I think I'd prefer using a Bluetooth earpiece rather than using the speaker/mic on the Nuvi 360. Anyway that's my opinion on the two units.

This was a big delima for me, so I read a lot about factory installed GPS's. None were as good in the reviews as the aftermarket ones. Plus, you can take it out in a second and put it in the next vehicle you jump into, or take it walking a new town with you. I do this all the time. I bought the Nuvi 350 (without Bluetooth). My A3 has Bluetooth and I use it often. The newer http://www.garmin.com/products/nuvi660/ is probably the best on the market today. I have a couple friends pricing them now, I think one said it's possible to get it for high $600 to low $700, and it has Bluetooth that works via your stereo. Audi I'm reading, is having problems with their Bluetooth for some models and carriers... so this would definately be better.

Regards

I have the Garmin Quest 2 and I am very happy with it. I personally do not like touch screens and the system works flawlessly. I can fit it in my front pocket because of its' small size.

Garmin is the way to go. Take a look at the Quest and its' features. You just might like it. Good luck.

and one more thing, if you work for chrysler or know someone that does, have them/yourself purchase the garmin gps. You get a major discount on garmin gps (maybe even other products by garmin)!!!

Another question....given that California and Minnesota say you can't have a GPS using windows mount, how do you guys use yours in your car to get around this ?

We can window mount here, it is the best option. I've seen a few velcro to the dash (u g l y, you aint got no... never mind). Also, GPS receivers only receive so BIG BROTHER isn't watching that way (yet), but the rental dealerships are, they install 2 way GPS.... arggg. Or, good? If you don't have anything to hide, and don't think you'll be running from the po-po any time soon.

Sorry, not enough sleep *grin*
