Hey All, A3 months old. need to upgrade sub!!
Hey, i'm new to this forum and i figured it would be a good place to have my questions answered. I went to buy my new A3 late summer (july 06) so i could get a good deal. the problem, of course, was limited selectivity! Could not order my options, had to rely on what was in stock. Pleased with the car to all degrees except for the stereo. I couldn't get the sound package so i had to down grade from my in dash 6 cd changer, and i'm truly unsatisfied with the bass of the symphony 1. is there a way i could swap out the stock sub?
please help!!
please help!!

if you can figure out how to take it out, i'm pretty sure you replace it easilly, it's in the trunk behind the left inner wall. i think it's a 6" sub, you might as well rewuire your car and and an amp in there too, there should be space.

Hey Sunny 201,
I believe that all 2006/2007 A3s have either the concert I or Concert II ( I mistakenly referred to it as the Symphony), which has a sub concealed behind the carpet liner in the trunk. The concert I is what is available when you don't get the sound package, while the Concert II is the upgraded bose system with the tape deck. In the case of the Concert I, the sub does not have the frequency depth i need (very low tones aren't pick up well), which is why when i finally figure out how to remove the liner without damaging anything, i'll swap it out!
