Default How can Audi defend this?

So at my local Audi dealer there is a 2007 Red 3.2L Quattro A3 that is fully loaded for just over $40,000! Today I went out and test drove a BMW 335i. OMG this car is unbelievably powerful, and guess what? It costs around the same as that A3. Now $40,000 is more than I am looking to spend but it seems like you get more car for the money from BMW. I still love the A3 but now after this test drive I might hold out for the BMW 1 series (though it won't be in hatchback form[:'(])

LOL maybe. Sometimes I wonder if I don't enjoy the process of shopping for the car better than owning the car. I am so damn indecisive.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'd still put my money on the 335 against the S3. Test drove it, that car is fast... Then again, don't like the interior, don't like the brand, and don't like seeing the same car every block around Toronto. The 135 is just ugly IMO.

All good and well. But, being a former BMW owner.
Let's see them put an 12 gallon shop vac from Home Despot in their trunk and drive it home. There are many factors which went into my purchase of the A3.Being a homeowner- there were certain factors above and beyond performance. Yes - there is the BMW 3 wagons. But - that's another price jump.
Just my 1.5 cents (aftertaxes).

I agree totally with JBA3. Sure, you CAN load up an A3 over $40k, but you don't have to. My 2006, which I bought used for under $24K (premium package and nothing else) is going to run just the same as your $40k test driver.
