Default How come my alloys are rubbing????

HI
i have just recently bought some audi s8 alloy wheels for my audi a3 2.0 tdi.
the wheels are 19" and have tyres: 235/35/19 on them.
when i have 3-4 people in the car my baCK wheels rub on the arches i think when going over bumps. what do i need to do to get rid of the rubbing as its annoying?
knock out the arches?
but i have seen ppl on websites with a3s with 19" wheels and have even had there cars lowered by 30mm too!
hows this work??

please help

Matthew

what's your offset?

you could have your fenders rolled...or its a good reason not to have rear passengers

A8 wheel offset runs from 37 to 42MM depending on which wheel. Stock A3 offests are 56MM. Add to that the additional 5MM of width on each side for the 235 tires, you are running about 20-25mm more width than stock, and that will rub. The solution is to get proper offset wheels: 17,18,19" X 7.5" 50-56MM or 8" 50MM offset.

Lowering and clearance requires knowing what fits and using it.
