How fast is an upgraded A3 really?
Im looking to buy a 6-speed 2006 a3 next month, im planning on doing exhaust, CAI and a chip, ive seen HP/TQ at about 260/299, has anyone with similar upgrades run the 1/4 mile or know an estimate times, how much will it improve the 0-60 times, thanks!! Im used to having a WRX so i want to make sure im not downgrading (in speed) too much...:D

Well, about 2 months ago I was cruising down the highway, passed a guy going too slow and had a WRX jump in behind me. I gunned it and was at 130mph with him a ways behind me. I just slowed down to "normal" highway speeds and he came up next to me and was giving me the thumbs up, pointing at my car while nearly jumping out of his seat. Does that count??? BTW, I have the mods you've listed.

yeah i got tired of the crap interior and whatnot, if you were to guess-timate your 0-60 times vs stock what would you say with those mods?

The A3 doesn't rattle, or, it didn't before it got wrecked.
John, if you look more closely at the "B-Day" post, you'll realize that I still have only the A3. I'm hoping when I get it back that it's still just as solid. OR, I will take it back and have them fix it. I don't have any exacts on 0-60 or 1/4 mile. My guess is 5.7-5.8 for 0-60, and maybe 13.9 in 1/4 mile? The last is a true guess. The car has a much better 50-70 time due to the high torque. Cheers! |

The times that you mentioned make me wonder how close a race with a chipped A3 would be compared to a S4. Also have you had a chance to take a 2008 2.0T TT for a spin (I did) , the stock car does 0-60 in 6 secs, imagine what that would be like to drive chipped! |

RyanA3 from anther forum clocked himself with a radar from 0-60 averaged to 5.4 or something like that. A bolt on A3 will probably be slightly faster than a stock WRX, but a bolt on WRX will still be faster especially from a dig.

Check out A3Night's video of this odometer of his 0-60 times, he's got DSG, stage II APRwith Evoms CAI, i think that's as acurate as you need, 5.4 seconds is kinda pushing it, i agree with Chef with 5.7-5.8 seconds
