humming noise between 70 and 80 miles per hour
Hi everyone,
Just looking for opinions on what could be causing the above issue.
I have an 2006 Audi A3 quattro and there is a humming noise coming from what sounds like the passenger side wheel of the car. It's very slight and comes in pulses like this _ _ _ _. It's sound like the ringer of a phone when it is on vibrate. I'm wondering what could be causing the issue. I have to turn off the radio to hear it. Any insight would be helpful. From what I've researched online, it seems people are saying that it is either an alignment issue, a tire issue, or a wheel bearing.
The only thing I find funny about any of those issues is that the sound only occurs between 70 and 80 miles per hour (or it seemed this morning as if it occured between 70 and 75). And the sound isn't there at low speeds when turning. It just occurs on the highway.
Again any insight would be helpful.

could be a tire out of round or out of balance.
just because it only happens at higher speeds that doesn't mean these can't be the issue. it's just the frequency needed for these things to be noticeable sometimes.
i had a bent rim and the only way i knew to check was because of a shudder/vibration at about 75mph.
not sure if this is the issue, but just chiming in.
