ok so what happened was i was going around a corner (only doing maybe 15mph) and i hit a patch of ice and hit the curb with my rear drivers side wheel, by the way its a 99 a4 1.8tq... i took a look at it and couldnt notice much damage except for the wheel being curbed....now when driving i hear a humming noise coming from that area and it gets louder as i turn right, mostly at a decent speed going arount right hand bends. The alignment seems to be fine but i do notice that the steering seems to be a little bit tighter when i turn the steering wheel left. could this be a bent tie rod, control arm etc.. or am i maybe in for something much bigger.

 

Wheel bearing most likely.

Jack up the car so that wheel is off the ground and see if there is any play in it. If there is, look and see where it is coming from if you can.

yea i thought the wheel bearing myself....in the morning ill jack it up and take a look

 

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I hit a curb and have the same humming noise, especially when turning right.

 

i missed this thread but the rear wheel does not have a tie rod lol. doubt it's the wheel bearing though.

 

I diddnt hit a curb, but from a dead stop when I make a full turn I hear a low rubbing/humming noise coming from the front of the car. Could there be something wrong with the Q system?
