Hi audiismypassion-
Choice in transmission also depends on what you're going to do with it? Will you use this car for your driver's license test, or will you have access to a normal automatic? How far do you commute to school each day? If you'll be entering college in the autumn, how far away is that total commute? How much traffic do you expect to encounter along the way for each. Let us know and it will definitely help you get the right DSG vs. STICK answers from people in the forum. ~ Blue Jays ~ |

RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
I think you your dad should get you a tutor instead. :D
does it stop u from being able to peel out rev ur engine Seriously though, test drive both and see which one you like more. DSG is nothing like the auto on your mom's car. |
RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
How 'bout - when your dad gets back. You have him get on this forum and we'll give him our opinions on what he should do with his money.
Audiismypassion; As far as the 'peel out' thing is concerned - when you have to pay for your own tires - that may stop being cool. As far as 6M or DSG - test drive both and see what you like better. |
RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
Given the OP's syntax and spelling, perhaps Blue Jays presumed a bit too much by asking about college. I second the tutor suggestion by eltonsi.
As far as DSG v. 6MT, I would say 6MT, because it sounds like the OP wouldsubject the transmission toa lot of abuse, as he wants to "peel out rev ur engine etc - all the fun stuff u can do wit a clutch." The 6MT is cheaper to replace just in case his dad visits Europe again. |
RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
I got my A3 a few weeks ago and tried both before making a decision. I went with the MT because I like the control, well, as much as my limited ability allow me.
Besides a tutor I would recommend a stroller? Safer for everybody else out there... Seriously now, both cars can get you in trouble, it is really a matter of personal preferences. |
RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
hey thanks for the advise... as for the spelling and tutor crap i only mispelled all that stuff because i was in a rush but thanks for all the help...

RE: I HAVE A RELI BIG DESICION TO MAKE
Hi audiismypassion-
Can you ask father to put $1000 into your bank account while he is overseas? That would allow you to put a deposit on the car at the Audi dealership to "get the ball rolling" in terms of finding it, or having it built depending on what options you choose. By the time the car arrives at the dealership, he will have returned to the United States to complete the purchase. Have you made decisions on things like 3.2 S-Line, Navigation Package, Open Sky, Technology Package, Cold Weather Package, etc., etc.? Also give a telephone call to the same insurance company your father uses to see if they can send you the application for an insurance policy, unless you'll go on his during the time you're a student. ~ Blue Jays ~ |
