you're going to need a LOT more than just the headlight housings to retrofit them.
it was posted somewhere else, but it is going to take at least a new hood, new bumper cover, and new grill. and that is only if the harnesses and mounting points remain the same.
trust me, it was a big letdown finding out that the LED headlights werent plug and play.

The LED tails, on the other hand, will fit!

They are still being made, and a GB over at fourtitude is set up for the next few days.

Unfortunately- the new 09 A3s with the LED DRLs are not a direct fit to the current models for the reports that the new 09s has different bumper and hood- which from various posts from other Audi forums has differnt mounting points.
If it was a direct fit- there would have been a few that would be sporting these headlights on there current 06-08 model years already. And most of the aftermarket/tuning companies are not offering.
the new LED taillights however are a direct fit- although special wiring harness are required (currently on sale thru some tuning market- OEMPlus for one) a group buy is currently underway at Fourtitude.com

Some of the other A3 drivers however are opting to do their own LED DRLs that I have initiated for the A3 community:
