Default Just ordered new 2007 A3 2.0T

I just ordered a 2007 A3 2.0T from the dealer, it won't be here for a couple of weeks. I wanted to solicit the forums feedback on the price I got, the options and most importantly - if you feel the 2.0T is a good car considering the price and the fact a similar GTI is much, much less.

2007 Audi A3 2.0T DSG
Lava Gray/Black Leather
S-Line
Cold Weather
Technology
Open Sky

MSRP is $33490
Invoice is $30991
Edmunds TMV is $33,161

I'm paying $32,500

Starting to get some buyer's remorse.

Give us some background info... Why did you buy, what other cars were you interested in, etc? Obviously you made the right choice with the A3... LET US KNOW!!! WE ALL WANT TO HELP!!!

Looked at the 4-door GTI but none to be had until Spring (for the most part). My wife thinks I'm too old for a GTI (I'm 35) and she wanted me to get the A3 but didn't want me to spend that much.

Other options I considered or am considering:

2006 BMW330i (too much though)
2007 Honda Civic (looking to spend around $15k so might go with an earlier year)

I drive 25 miles each way to work. I have two daughters, ages 6 and 3 who need a ride occasionally (that's why I'm ditching my Civic Hatchback 2 door).

I make OK money but am averse to spending it on cars. I really love hatchbacks, love the look of the A3 and would like something with 4 doors that can get up and go!

Was that 32,500 before or after taxes , did you include the service plan?

$32,500 before tax, licensing and fees. That does not include the service plan.

If I buy the service plan, do I have to do my service at that dealership or can I pick & choose?
Is the service plan recommended?

Hmm,

The cars you listed are on the two ends of the spectrum. Cheap honda civic, GTI, and a luxury BMW 330i. If you want performance, BMW and the A3 will give it to you. From what I gather is that your not too happy with the price you paid. Unfortuantly, I have no clue if you got a good deal or not. Before tax and license I got mine for $28,000 for Sport, Open Sky, DSG. Go to the dealer and deal some more, I'm sure you can get it cheaper.

Are you into mods? If so, this car is great for them. Lot of after market support.

So if you consider all three cars (Civic, A3 and BMW) you can see I'm considering cars from the low end to the high end and have settled for something in the middle, A3.

It's not so much that I want another hundred or thousand dollars off. My hang up is that I could buy a Civic for $15k and have it paid off in about a year, maybe less. Whereas with the A3, once I've paid off $15k, I'll still have another $15k or more to go.

I know I'll love the A3 for the first few months but will I then get bored with it and regret my decision. Whereas I've been very happy with my Civic, mostly because it's like driving a free car.

Stryker - is yours a 2006 or 2007? Do you have the other options I have (DSG, Cold, Technology)?
