Default Just picked her up!

Well, I picked her up, just got back into the office.

It is a RAINY day here in Jersey, windy, rainy, terrible conditions.

The car drives like a CHAMP. I was trying to go only 40mph on the highway, but she wanted me to push the gas!

Definetly held its own in the pouring rain and in some big puddles.

The only thing I did notice when I was driving back to work, the "Passenger Aig-Bag OFF" button stayed on.
That is the button on the right, next to the right of the hazard button. I pushed the "air bag off" button in to turn it on, and it doesnt push in, is this how its supposed to be? Any ideas?

It will always be on unless someone is in the seat. I can't stand it either and will probably disconnect the light or take it out, replacing it with the TPMS. I've seen where others have changed the bulbs to be red so it blends in better and is less distracting.

Edit - Congrats. It's a safe bet your appreciation for the car will only increase as it has for me and just about everyone else here.

Congrats on finally getting your car. Worth the wait?

As for disconnecting the swtich, DONT DO IT. It will log a fault in the car and give you the blinking airbag light on your instrument console.

Thanks for the reply.

I can totally see how that "AIR BAG" light can be a pest.

It doesnt look right lit up orange.

But, thanks for the answer to that, now thats the least of my worries.

This car is AWESOME!

Sounds like the voice of experience... Thanks. Maybe I'll just tuck it behind the switch panel with the new TPMS in its place.

And yes, the car is DEFINETLY worth the wait!!!

I was hesitating on picking it up today, since the weather is terrible here.

But I couldnt wait anymore!!!

Havent had the chance to really admire the exterior much since its pouring out. But I will garage it when I get home and salivate over it!

Congrats! The waiting is over!

I've grown used to my airbag light, and maybe don't notice it as much since so much is going on with my Nav screen above. I definitely wouldn't try to disconnect it however.

While getting used to the new car, here is one thing that jumped out on me you should watch for:
Don't know if you have the Auto lights or not (I have the Technology pack so maybe it's different?), but when I first tried to turn on the foglights in the dark I had to turn the light switch all the way over, pull it out and then I turned it back and somehow I accidentally turned off the headlights while driving and had to pull over to the side of the road in a hurry before I crashed the thing. Apparently I needed to turn it back one more click and I would have been fine, but a close call.

Definitely sit in the car in the garage with the manual tonight and have yourself some fun!

From the top congrats on FINALLY getting your ride, regarding the airbag warning, be happy you dont drive my wife's E320 05 that airbag sensor detects the smallest amount of weight and starts beeping and lighting up and telling you to put on the seat belt and all kinds of shiat. Just wait till you get a dry day so you can really feel what we all have been talking about. Get the mods and send us some pics![8D]

Drove it around last night and this morning. Already have 90 miles on it.

I have been hesitant on getting it over 60 mph. But I could tell it wants me to.
On the highway this morning, with the open-sky 1/2 open, I just had to push it alittle, to see what she's got.
So, I shot her to 80mph, and that is when I felt the "TURBO" kick in. What a rush that was.

I got the PREMIUM suspension, so when I cruised around my side roads, instead of the highways, it drives much like a luxury sedan. So soft and smooth. But this morning, when I shot her up to 80mph, WOW....what a difference....the thing TOOK OFF!.

I was about 1/2 mile from my exit to work off the highway, I had a 3 Series Beamer on the right of me and a Mazda 3 in front of me. Both going at pretty quick speeds. I had to get over pretty quickly or else I would miss my exit, so I pushed the gas on my A3 and in no time shot up to about 80mph and cleared out every single car in my way, AMAZING!.

But, I am just concerned alittle now. I mean, I only put about 60 miles on the car, plus the 30 that was already on it, should I be cranking the mph up to 80 already? Or should I just stick with going 60mph until I reach about 500 miles?

Im not reving it to red-line point at all at this time, maybe got the RPM's to reach 3 or 4 for now.

it's fine to go that fast...the thing you should have to watch at least til you hit 500 miles is not excessively going above 4500RPM's and taking it easy on the brakes. other than that you can go as fast as you want....
